Saturn The Ringed Planet by Ryan Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun. Saturn is the second largest planet in our solar system. Like Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune, it is known as a gas planet. Saturn is also known as the ringed planet. Saturn is very distinct in appearance. Saturn is a brown and yellowish planet with some white spots. It has ring that range from blue to brown in color. Saturn is ten times the size of Earth and is 120 536 km in diameter and weighs approximately 5.682e6. Saturn is surrounded by many rings. These rings are mostly blue and brown. There are about 50 rings in total. The rings are made our of ice crystals believed to come from asteroids. The rings of Saturn are 60 000 km from the inside to the outside ring, and are about 8.9 million km around. Saturn has 18 known moons or satellites. Astronomers think there may be more. Titan is the largest of Saturn's moons. It has a red appearance from the atmosphere and is mostly rocky. It was thought that there may be an ocean on Titan that is the size of Australia. Titan is larger than our moon and is the second largest moon in the solar system. Saturn is the second largest planet in the solar system and is known as the ringed planet because even though other planets have rings, Saturn has the most. That is why I think Saturn is the coolest looking planet.
